The BNS working group ‘Hot topics and message board’ launched a new initiative: "regular mailing to inform members about PhD defenses in the domain of nutritional research at one of the Belgian universities". As a service to its members, BNS sends an update on the various PhD defenses organised on nutrition in Belgium. This update is provided through email. If you wish to announce a PhD defense, please inform the working group by completing the relevant template (here) and send it to Isabelle.Sioen[at]UGent.be. She guarantees that your information will be included in the e-mail that will be circulated regularly.
If you do not want to receive the mailings concerning PhD defense, please send an email to info[at]belgiannutritionsociety.be with subject of the email ‘PhD mailing unsubscribe’
Every year the BASO (Belgian Association for the Study on Obesity) organizes a half-day meeting, where researchers and (para-)medical staff can present their study results to their ‘peers’. Young scientists are stimulated to present their work in this forum, before they go on stage of an international conference. This is also an opportunity to get an idea of the ongoing work in Belgium related to obesity. The presentations do not last longer than 10 minutes. Every year, there is one key-note speaker. The programme of last year is can be found here to get an idea about the meeting.
Please find here an invitation for the BASO's yearly Free Communications Meeting which will be held on February 4th 2012. Abstracts for our meeting can be sent to the secretariat (Dr Inge Gies; Inge.Gies[at]uzbrussel.be) before December 31th.
During the Belgian Week of Gastroenterology the VVKVM and SNCB organise a nutrition session on Thursday 9 February 2012 in room Albert II. The whole programme is available here (programme of the nutrition section on page 30-31).
